Adult Counselling

You’re not meant to navigate life’s challenges alone. Together, we can make sense of what comes next.

As adults, we often carry responsibilities and expectations that leave little room for our own well-being. Everyone deserves a space where they can speak openly, reflect honestly, and receive care that meets them exactly where they are. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I’ll help you unpack what’s weighing on you, strengthen your coping strategies, and build resilience in the areas that matter most. Therapy isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about having someone walk alongside you as you find them.

What I Can Help With

Life brings seasons that can feel heavy, confusing, or too much to carry on your own. Therapy offers a place to pause, breathe, and make sense of what you’re moving through. I support adults with a wide range of emotional and life experiences, including but not limited to:

Emotional Well-Being & Mental Health

  • Anxiety & chronic worry — When worry feels relentless or your body stays on high alert, therapy can help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and build a greater sense of steadiness.
I know how disruptive anxiety can be, and I offer support that is both empathic and grounded in lived experience.

  • Depression & low mood — Depression can make life feel flat, heavy, or disconnected from who you used to be. Together, we unpack what’s contributing to the low mood and help you rebuild resilience, meaning, and self-compassion. My own experiences with depression inform the compassion and patience I bring to this work.

  • Stress & overwhelm — For those who are stretched thin by responsibilities or major life transitions, we create practical, sustainable ways to reduce pressure and reconnect with balance.

Trauma, Safety & Emotional Recovery

  • Trauma & PTSD — Whether from a single event or years of accumulated experiences, trauma can linger in both the body and mind, showing up through intrusive memories, emotional numbness, heightened sensitivity, or physical tension you can’t quite explain. My approach is trauma-informed and paced carefully so you can move through this in a way that feels emotionally safe. My own history with trauma gives me a deeper understanding of how it affects both the body and mind—and how healing can unfold over time.

  • Medical trauma & caregiver fatigue — Navigating illness, medical procedures, caregiving roles, or ongoing health uncertainty can take a deep emotional toll. Therapy can help you process the stress, grief, and fear that often accompany these experiences.

Grief, Loss & Major Life Changes

  • Grief & bereavement — Loss comes in many forms; death, endings, changes in identity, or a life that didn’t unfold as expected. Together, we make space for your grief without rushing or minimizing your experience.

  • Child loss & reproductive grief — Losing a child, whether during pregnancy, at birth, or later in life, creates a kind of grief that reshapes everything. I offer compassionate, experienced support for families navigating this pain, drawing on both professional training and lived experience to ensure you never have to explain “why it hurts so much.”

  • Infertility, pregnancy loss & reproductive grief — Struggling to build a family can bring a deep, private kind of pain, one that’s often invisible to others. The emotional toll of infertility can affect your identity, relationships, and sense of future. I offer compassionate, informed support rooted in both professional training and lived experience, creating space to process the grief, uncertainty, and emotional exhaustion that come with this journey.

  • Life transitions — Changes in work, relationships, roles, identity, or family life can leave you feeling untethered. We work to help you find steadiness and direction through these shifts.

Parenthood, Roles & Identity

  • Perinatal & postpartum mental health — Whether you’re preparing for parenthood, recovering from birth, or adjusting to life with a newborn, therapy can support your emotional well-being during a time of major change.

  • Parenthood transitions — Becoming a parent can reshape your identity, your relationships, and your sense of self. We explore this shift openly so you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Identity, Self-Understanding & Affirming Support

  • 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming counselling — A supportive space for exploring identity, navigating transitions, processing discrimination or family dynamics, and reconnecting with who you are. My approach is affirming, non-judgmental, and grounded in respect for your lived experience.

How Therapy Works With Me

Beginning therapy can feel uncertain, so I work in a way that is steady, clear, and grounded in both professional training and personal lived experience. I’ve walked through many of the challenges I now support clients with, including infertility, child loss, trauma, PTSD and the complex emotional terrain of parenthood. This helps me understand your feelings not only as a clinician but as someone who truly knows what it’s like.

In our sessions, you can expect a calm, supportive space where you set the pace. I’ll check in regularly, help you stay grounded when things feel overwhelming, and offer language and tools that make sense of what’s happening in your mind and body. You’ll always know why we’re exploring something, and you’ll never be pushed further than you’re ready to go.

Our work may include meaningful conversations, gentle reflection, and practical strategies you can use between sessions. We’ll look at patterns that no longer serve you, make space for experiences that need tending, and help you reconnect with your inner steadiness and strength.

My role is to provide clarity, compassion, and clinical skill, so that you don’t have to face hard things alone. Together, we’ll shape a therapy experience that feels meaningful, validating, and genuinely helpful for where you are right now.
